TED is a nonprofit devoted to ideas worth spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. TED believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world by bring together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes or less) in front of a limited
direct audiences and for millions of audiences around the world
through their live internet channel , former US President Bill Clinton was one of these speakers.
The list of speakers included but wasn't limited to Gordon Brown, Richard Dawkins, Bill Gates, educator Salman Khan, Google founders Larry Pig and Sergei Brain and a number of Nobel Award winners. Since 2011 TED offers a financial prize for one speaker every year to help her/him realize his/her dream, implement her/his idea or improve her/his experience.
